Class War: Household Charges to Rise as Millionaires Multiply by 40% in 5 Years

Date:

Recent studies in the North have shown that the rich really are getting richer while the poor are getting poorer.

It is no secret that household charges are set to rise due to ongoing “austerity” measures by Capitalist governments.

Today, research from PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers accountancy firm) indicated that households in the North will be hit hardest in the UK by this rise in charges.

The North has the highest percentage of people working at the minimum wage rate in the whole of the UK, and our average wage only accounts for 85% of the UK average. As we have less money to spend we will proportionately spend more on household bills which will amount to 25% of our expenditure by 2020.

This is money being spent on things that we need in order to survive: a roof over our heads, heating, food, electricity, water, and sanitation to mention just a few. A price-tag should not be put on our survival, our very existence.

This rise in cost to the working class occurs against a backdrop of the number of millionaires here rising by 40% over the past five years.

There are more than 14,000 millionaires living here. That’s 14,000 people who are getting rich off of our work; 14,000 people who are only prepared to pay us the bare minimum so that they can maximise their own profits; 14,000 people who don’t care if we can’t afford a house, or a meal, or heating.

Many of them are bosses and landlords, otherwise known as parasites.

This is nothing more than class warfare, a war that they have waged on us. We must resist, and we must change society for the better.
