Successful gig fundraiser for Dublin Shell to Sea

Just a very brief report on the Dublin Shell to Sea gig last night (Friday 29th February) – A really good turn out of eighty or so paying customers on a maggoty, windy, rain spattered night – about eight WSM members spotted by this observer! I think roughly 500 euros was made by Dublin Shell to Sea. I took no pics so yea’ll have to do with ones lifted from myspace! First up were Section 4 of the Criminal Justice act featuring Rosport Camp Veteran Bob on bass.

Dari Jeyran, an Iranian is a women’s and political rights activist recently arrived from Iran.

She has been involved in the struggles against the government there. She has also been involved in solidarity work with trade unionists and students and campaigned for prisoner’s rights.

Dari, who is opposed to any war or sanctions on Iran, has been at the forefront of providing information about what is happening in Iran out to activists abroad.

Iranian socialist speaks in Dublin

HOPI s hosting a public meeting in Dublin with Torab Saleth. He's an Iranian socialist who took part in the revolution of 1979. In exile he became the editor of the journal 'Socialism and Revolution' and is currently on the editorial board of the journal Critique and a prominent member of Workers Left Unity Iran.
