Dublin bus for Belfast Rally4Choice 2016

Date:

The WSM and Need Abortion Ireland are running a bus to the July 2nd Rally for Choice in Belfast.  Tickets will be 10 euro and we would encourage you to buy a ticket as soon as possible as if we fill the bus soon we will then get a second bus.  If you can't go or if you have some spare cash you can make a donation towards the cost of the bus at our paypal link below.  Donations of 10 euro or more will allow us to subsidise some of the tickets for those on very low or no income.

ONLINE SALES HAVE CLOSED.  THERE WILL BE A FEW SEATS AVAILABLE TOMORROW AT 10AM ON A FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED BASIS.  GET TO THE HUGH LANE AT 10 AND YOU'LL HAVE A GOOD CHANCE OF BEING ABLE TO TRAVEL.

The organisers of the Belfast Rally 4 Choice are "calling on all pro-choice people in Ireland to join us" in what they hope will be a 10,000 strong demonstration. The protest takes place in the context of the Stormont state prosecuting women who have taken or supplied the abortion pill and yet more women handing themselves in to be prosecuted.  The south has very similar legislation that was recently introduced by the Fine Gael / Labour Party governement and while we have not yet seen prosecutions people would face up to 14 years imprisonment if prosecutions take place.  That is why its essential as many of us as possible get to Belfast for the July 2nd Rally4Choice.

Exact details will be released to ticket holders a few days before July 2nd but the bus will depart from central Dublin around 10.00 on July 2nd and return around 18.30 the same day.  Again if you are thinking of going please buy your ticket ASAP, if it turns out you can't travel you can always let us know and we can then give that ticket to someone with no income to allow them to travel for free.  If you are making your own way the Belfast Rally4Choice is scheduled to run from 13.00 to 15.00

If you can't use Paypal then Contact Us to arrange to meet one of our members in person to pay for a ticket / make a donation. If you can't afford the 10 euro ticket you can also Contact us and ask to be added to the waiting list for 5 euro tickets or any free ones that come about at the last minute because the person who paid for them is unable to travel.

For background information we have a collection of articles on Medical abortion north and south as well as our more general pro-choice collection giving a detailed history and analysis of the struggles for abortion access.
