May Day in Cork

Cork WSM are mobilizing in support of the May Day March called by the Independent Workers Union.  

Later in the day Solidarity Books on Douglas St celebrates Mayday with two talks and a free community meal!

Cork WSM are mobilizing in support of the May Day March called by the Independent Workers Union Gathering at 1pm, the march leaves from outside Connolly Hall  on Lapp's Quay in Cork before proceeding up Parnell Place, along Merchant's Quay, down Patrick Street to congregate in Daunt Square. 

The theme of this year's march is "Repudiate The Debt"

Come one, come all! Bigi ann! Bigi linn!

 

 Later in the day Solidarity Books on Douglas St celebrates Mayday with two talks and a free community meal!

Our first speaker at 4pm is Eammon MacGabhain (IWU) whose talk is entitled: "Building a Fighting Union"

Our second speaker at 5pm is Kevin Doyle (WSM) whose talk is entitled: "The Origins of May Day"


Then at 6pm we will invite everyone to join us in the beer garden of Fionn Barra's Pub across the street for a free community meal!

upstairs in An Spailpin Fanac, South Main Street

The fabulous Chaos Cabaret returns once again! 

This time as a joint fundraiser for Solidarity Books and the Independent Worker's Union and featuring the eclectic mix of music, poetry, comedy and chaos that you've come to expect! 

Admission is 4 euro unwaged or 6 euro waged, 2 euro for asylum seekers.

Doors open at 8pm!
