The details around Radio Solidarity #3 can be found there along with a link to the show for you to listen to are your leisure.

In this  Radio Soldarity  we explore the recent rupture between people and the Irish Catholic Church due to the recent turmoil and revelations which have been exposed.

We talk to Diarmuid Ferritter – Professor of Modern History at UCD on the very singular role that the Church played in moulding and dealing with Social Policy from the start of the State.

We talk to Mary McAuliffe from the organisation Justice For Magdalenes about the extent that the State and the Church were complicit in the brutalisation and enslavement of generations of young women.

We send Mark out onto the streets with a microphone to find out how people feel about the church in the light of recent scandal and cover-ups.

The subsidiary role allotted to women in Irish society thanks to the Church is illustrated and spoken about by Dr. Helen Keyes (in a personal capacity) from Choice Ireland.  This remains an area of contention as the option of choice has not been legislated for.

We talk to Mannix Flynn – artist, poet, playwright, and current Dublin Councillor for Dublin South-East, who has long been a critic of the church and who survived being in the notorious industrial school at Letterfack about how he feels we can best move on as a society and build a future in the wake of what’s happened.

Fuller versions of all the innterviews, plus some that we couldn't fit in will be available on our blog over the coming days.
